Today, the Belleville-Ménilmontant district is a working-class neighbourhood, in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. It is characterized by a large urban diversity, many green spaces and an extremely vibrant cultural life. There are many songs mentioning the Belleville-Ménilmontant district, which has also been used as a backdrop in several movies, that reflect the influences of a population of migrants, particularly through the many Asian and African shops and restaurants.This neighbourhood is a major residential area, and remains a welcoming place for a stroll.
