Paris 9 : populated, dynamic... A lively arrondissement!

With a population density of 27,000 inhabitants per square kilometre, the 9th arrondissement is one of the most heavily settled districts of Paris. Bounded on the north by the Boulevard de Clichy, and to the south by the Grands Boulevards, to the east by the Rue Faubourg Poissonnière and to the west by Rue d'Amsterdam, the ninth consists of four quarters: Pigalle-St. Georges, the Chaussée d'Antin, the Faubourg-Montmartre and Rochechouart.

Living in the 9th district of Paris means, in 89% of cases, occupying a home built before the second half of the twentieth century. They are mainly apartments, mostly studios and two-bedroom properties (which probably explains why the 9th arrondissement is largely inhabited by singles, or couples without children), particularly in the residential neighbourhood of Lafayette, or around Notre-Dame de Lorette. However, families wishing to live in the 9th will also find accommodation with five bedrooms or more, especially in the newer buildings in the Rochechouart quarter, which is considered the most popular area in the ninth arrondissement.

The Opéra district, with its buildings converted into offices, and other spaces occupied by department stores and by the Opéra itself, is the least residential sector of the ninth. With its many shopping streets, such as the Rue Faubourg Poissonnière and the Rue Cadet, its well-reputed schools such as the Lycée Condorcet, the Lycée Jules Ferry and the Lycée Lamartine, and its extensive transport network and underground car parks, the 9th provides every facility its residents require, whilst also offering them the hustle and bustle of one of the liveliest Parisian arrondissements. Your apartment will be nicely surrounded : renting an apartment in the 9th arrondissement is a smart choice : Be sure that your flat will be well situated, with plenty of entertaining activities near the housing... your stay in Paris will definitely be a success. Lodgis will guide you through the reservation process and will help you find and book the perfect furnished apartment!
