This area is one of the oldest in Paris, with the Halles dating back from the Middle Ages. It is also one of the most visited districts in Paris and is ideal if you are looking for an apartment to rent in the center of Paris.
Many remarkable monuments are located within walking distance, such as the Louvre and the Palais Royal. The "rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré" is home to the most famous designers and you can find most high-end jewellery stores on the nearby "place Vendôme". Renting an apartment in the Louvre area will allow you to walk around the beautiful Tuileries garden.
Organize your holidays in the 1st district
The 1st arrondissement is an awesome place to stay in Paris!
With its places of worship and renowned historic sites and civil engineering landmarks, this arrondissement is the main Paris attraction for tourists and visitors.
Come visit the Palais-Royal, the Palais de la Cité (a Medieval Royal Seat).
The Louvre is a Must-See museum with galleries and huge collections dating from Ancient Egypt, Greek and Roman antiquity to nowadays. Other Must-See places during your stay in Paris are:
- The île de la Cité (for a walk)
- The Sainte-Chapelle (a gothic church where are kept the Saint Louis' relics)
It's the right place to go shopping given the high number of “Haute Couture” boutiques (high end brands) on very famous avenues. There's also the Forum des Halles mall, the “Souvenir” gift shops and booksellers settled along the Seine River. Eventually, you can go to plays at the Comédie-Française (or Théâtre Français) or have diner in one of the many restaurants or “brasseries” of the neighborhood where you can get French traditional food, Italian gastronomy, Thai or Japanese food.
