While on the surface fine, the apartment has several issues. Although the landlord cannot control the lack of shutters outside, the apartment gets unbearably hot during the summer months because there is no real shade from the side windows. Additionally, because it is on Place de la République, it can be very loud from protests. The elevator frequently broke throughout the year (4+ times), which was tough given the 6th floor location. Furthermore, the bathroom sink was initially broken and then glued together, rather than properly replaced. Lastly, the landlord was pushy about overcharging me for rent by not giving me the accurate square meters and saying I should leave if I don’t like it. It’s still a nice apartment and it is as pictured (with cutlery and glasses and crockery), but I wanted to highlight these issues.
