Established in 1968, the Hauts-de-Seine department in the Île-de-France region is part of the inner suburbs of Paris. Located west of the capital, its prefecture is Nanterre and the area consists of three arrondissements, Nanterre, Boulogne-Billancourt and Antony, which together contain a total of 45 cantons.
