The clock of the Gare de Lyon, a landmark and a symbol of the neighborhood
Located in the northwest of the 12th arrondissement on the right bank of the Seine, Gare de Lyon is bordered by the River Seine, the Boulevard de la Bastille, the Bercy district of the South and the Faubourg Saint-Antoine.
The Gare de Lyon district is close to the monuments and Parisian landmarks such as Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral , the Jardin des Plantes, the Place des Vosges and Place de la Bastille. Its many shops and boutiques make it a very pleasant place for shopping and entertainment.
A neighborhood with beautiful brasseries
As a very bustling area, the Gare de Lyon area offers many opportunities for outings, recreation and leisure activities. In this district, we can both meet a fanfare at a street corner as a delicious seafood platter in a beautiful typical brasseries.
The Gare de Lyon district is also close to some great attractions and sights of Paris such as the Ile de la Cite and Notre Dame, the place des Vosges, the Père Lachaise or the Jardin des Plantes located just of other side of the Seine. The French Film Museum is also located near the Bercy Park. As for shopping, no hesitation, go to Bercy Village, a big mall where you will find many shops as well as cinemas and restaurants. To take a break after shopping, head to the Coulee Verte, an old railway track converted into a pedestrian walkway. You'll also find the pool of Reuilly and Bercy rink nearby. Unless you prefer the Bois de Vincennes and its charming alleys. Throughout the year, many concerts and sport events are held at Bercy Arena.
To get around the Gare de Lyon area and visit the greatest Parisian monuments, you can choose between the metro lines 1 and 14, the RATP bus lines/routes and RER (lines A and D), but you can also use the Velib and Autolib (available at the Velib and Autolib stations).
