Finding an apartment in the Val-de-Marne for your stay in Paris: culture, education, technology, shops...

There are plenty of great education opportunities in the Val-de-Marne, with schools, secondary schools, colleges, both public and private, as the college campus for the University Paris XII Val-de-Marne (UPEC). For this reason students should definitely consider renting a studio in the Val-de-Marne.

The Val-de-Marne is the largest department in the inner suburbs of Paris. However, it is the least densely populated, with just over 1.3 million inhabitants, so the population density there is therefore less than in its neighboring areas of Seine-Saint-Denis and Hauts-de-Seine. The 94 department of France is known for being home to many high quality healthcare facilities (such as the CHU Henri-Modor) and for its love of cinema. It also has an important cultural heritage, with museums and castles such as the Château de Vincennes. The area is also home to cutting edge technology, as the Bièvre valley is known for being a technology and science center.

If shopping is a priority, you should definitely opt for a furnished apartment rental in the Val-de-Marne area. On the one hand, there are numerous malls, including Vache Noire in Arcueil, Soeil Creteil in Creteil, Grand Ciel in Ivry-sur-Seine, Belle-Epine in Thiais, and on the other hand, the 94 department also houses the famous Rungis Market. No need to wonder where to get food in the Val-de-Marne!

Furnished apartment rentals in the department 94: a charming and individual area that's urban and rural at the same time

The Val-de-Marne area hosts Orly airport (Paris-Orly), Paris’ second biggest airport after Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Such well-developed infrastructure means the 94 is could be considered a highly urbanized department, but it is also home to the Lac de Créteil, a body of water that covers no less than 40 hectares. There you’ll find Créteil’s main leisure center, called “leisure island”. This is currently the only department of the Paris' “Petite Couronne” that can boast such a facility, which are usually reserved for less urbanized departments (the departments of La Grande Couronne). The Marne, France’s largest river, also passes through the Val-de-Marne and many nearby towns.

Furthermore, the 94 department is reported to be the champion (in terms of green spaces) of the 'Petite Couronne', with no less than 22 county parks: the Notre Dame Forest (Bois Notre Dame) and a part of the Bois de Vincennes (which hosts the Foire du Trone in summer, and where the Paris Zoological Park is located). There is also the “Coulée Verte” ( green belt) and the Roseraie (Rose garden) du Val-de-Marne, located in l'Hay-les-Roses. Homes in the Val-de-Marne certainly have a beautiful setting and renting an apartment in the 94 department will allow you to enjoy very different landscapes during your stay in Paris.

Renting a furnished apartment in the Val-de-Marne will also allow you to enjoy the Bords de Marne. A furnished home means that you won't have to worry about anything.
