The neighborhood Bonne Nouvelle is in the historical center of Paris. The rue de la Lune is between the pedestrian area "Montorgueil" and the Grands Boulevards, where the Grand Rex Cinema, Art Deco designed, celebrates regularly many previews.
The name of the street comes certainly from the sign of a baker representing the moon and the sun.
It follows the route of the wall of the chamber of Louis XIII. Anne of Austria came to lay the foundation stone of the Church of Our Lady of Bonne Nouvelle in 1628.
At the crossroads of rue de la Lune and Poissonnière, a door was drilled in 1945 in the ramparts of Louis XIII to allow the arrival in Paris of fresh fish from Boulogne sur Mer.
In 1685, it was moved to the corner of Boulevard and rue Poissonnière and was called Porte Saint Anne, in memory of the pilgrimage of Anne of Austria.
The building was built in the XVII century on the censive Roy, initially served as a granary, and it housed a forge until the nineteenth century at the very site where is the apartment!
