It is bordered by the River Seine, the Isle of Swans, the Avenue de Suffren, Rue de la Croix Nivert and the Rue Linois. This central neighbourhood has many strings to its bow. The Commerce - La Motte Picquet district once belonged to the municipality of Vaugirard. In 1860, it became the 59th district of Paris.
